Restaurant Sveta Sofija
A good place to try both the local trout and cake, as the name suggests this classy establishment overlooks the eponymous church and comes complete with a few outside tables for staring at it when you’re eating. Serving the dual purpose of a café and full-blooded restaurant, the menu is stuffed with Macedonian and international dishes that although not exactly venturing into the realms of gourmet cuisine are certainly delicious enough to keep the place open. Like many restaurants in the area, Sveta Sofija features live music most evenings.

Kaneo Letna Bavcha & Restaurant
The restaurant's location lets you enjoy the view of one of the most famous sights in the city - the church of St. John Kaneo, where time and space cease to exist once you glance into the lake. The restaurant is famously known for its Ohrid lake plashica, and most recently, it has shifted its focus toward fine dining.

Kaj Kanevche
With glorious views of Lake Ohrid, this place has one of the best locations in town. Their terrace is right on the water, making the dining experience here even better, but if you want a table outside, we recommend booking it in advance. It can be a bit tricky to find, but you can't miss it if you follow the lakeside path out of town towards the bluff with the famed Church of St John at Kaneo. They serve superb Macedonian dishes and have a great vegan menu, and if you can't decide your waiter will be happy to help with some recommendations.

Dalga
Although the menu’s packed with dishes including the usual grilled meat options and beef stroganoff, this fine affair perched close to the water’s edge is essentially a fish restaurant. Their Ohrid trout is legendary in fact, and the setting is hard to beat. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for an exceptional feast, and even better if you drop by when there’s some traditional Macedonian music being played live.

Pizza Via Sacra
Lovely little restaurant offering pizza and local dishes with a great view of St Sofia. It lies on a very cozy square near the church and almost next to the restaurant St Sofia.
The service of Via Sacra is great and the food is very very great!
One can choose to sit outside and inside.
On weekends it may turn out to be very busy and one may have to make a reservation
